BLS Course Specifics

The American Heart Association BLS CPR for Healthcare Provider Certification Course is designed for healthcare professionals who need training on how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Healthcare Provider BLS course specific content includes:

  • Key changes in basic life support, reflecting the new 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
  • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
  • 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
  • 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
  • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
  • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
  • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
  • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant

Furthermore, at CPR Northwest Washington Our Basic Life Support (BLS) classes cover a variety of life saving techniques for a variety of situations. In our BLS classes, you will learn to identify life threatening conditions and act quickly to mitigate them. In addition to learning about the American Heart Association Chain of Survival, you will also be directed in hands-on techniques to revive and relieve those who are in a critical situation.

At a CPR Northwest Washington BLS class, you’ll learn 1-person and 2-person rescuer CPR for adults, children and infants, bag-mask ventilation techniques, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use. Our courses will train you in the most up-to-date basic life support techniques, rescue breathing and choking relief to infants, children, and adults. Our certified professional instructors are passionate about helping you gain the knowledge you need to do your job correctly. You’ll learn to work alone, and in groups, to provide care to people in life threatening situations.
