There are two types of Stroke, Ischemic and HeIschemic vs hemorrhagic strokemorrhagic Stroke.  Ischemic strokes happen when an artery is blocked by a clot in the brain.  Hemorrhagic strokes happen when an artery in the brain ruptures and causes internal bleeding in the brain.  Both can be life threatening and need you to call 911.
